Recently, we held a webinar dedicated to birdwatching — a passion that unites millions of people around the world.

Our guest experts shared their experiences and inspired participants:

✨ Nikolai Ivansson spoke about how he transitioned from the world of startups and venture investments to birdwatching while living in Argentina. He showed that birdwatching is more than a hobby — it’s a philosophy: travel, new friendships, memory training, and even a way to slow down and reconnect with nature.

✨ Yulia Gorelova talked about how team birdwatching competitions have been held in Russia for almost 20 years. She described how the format evolved: initially only people with strong bird knowledge could take part, but the rules have since changed. Today, photo documentation is at the core of the competition, making it accessible to everyone — from students to families. The contests take place on foot or by car, and participants upload their photos to a special platform for verification by ornithologists and experienced birders. This approach not only engages newcomers but also helps identify new bird species in specific regions.

“Photography has become a bridge between people and birds,” said Yulia. “Our birding is for everyone — and each person has a chance to make a true ornithological discovery.”
